A Free Trip to the Olympics?

If I was a politician , and I’m not. And if I wanted to go to the Olympics in Beijing , which I don’t. And if I needed to make up an excuse to go, which I wouldn’t, then that would be the end of it.

But say I was a politician, how could I go about getting an all expense paid trip to the Olympics.  I  can’t just say I’m a very important politician and I’m going to the Olympics and your paying for it whether you like it or not.

The free trip to the Olympics would have to come in baby steps. Still there might be a little resentment in the fact that I’m  getting a free trip to the Olympics and none of  my  peers are. Perhaps take others along as a delegation, yes , yes that’s the ticket.

But then it would seem all to opportunistic wouldn’t it, hopping on a plane with your delegation. The public might say there he goes again, every world class event he’s hopping on a plane with his delegation.

Remember, baby steps, baby steps, just like in the movie What about BOB!

So what next? We have to make it look like it wasn’t planned. That the opportunity for a free trip to the Olympics just came out of thin air. It’s up to one of the delegates to come up with the solution. They’re going to have to earn their keep.

How about going to where the Olympics are being held for another purpose , a trade mission or something of that nature. Then we arrange further meetings or just get invited back during those two weeks when the Olympics are on. You know that plan just  might work.
