Message in a Bottle

Pulling a  large thumbnail from my mouth did not  bother me as much as Waddah Mustapha seeing a fly in an unopened  bottle  of  water. Gently removing a 1 1/2 inch rusted sewing needle from my mouth did not  bother me as much as Waddah Mustapha observing  a fly in an unopened  bottle  of  water. Would I be abnormally receptive to such gross encounters or is Waddah Mustapha just afraid of his own shadow?

The thumbnail came courtesy of the biggest coffee shop chain in Canada . When my wife returned the item , the manager claimed no responsibility. The meat in the sandwich she said was packaged elsewhere.  What she was saying was that the person who was sans thumbnail did not work there. A replacement sandwich was my only out of court settlement.

The 1 1/2 inch rusted sewing needle was donated by one of the biggest bakeries in Ontario. Their only responsibility was to themselves ,  private investigators where threatened . We called the appropriate government agency, they showed up . It was ruled out  that somebody punctured  the bag  in  the store . The most likely scenario was that some woman was sewing while at work, put the needle aside , forgot about it  and 10 years later it’s part of my lunch.

No adverse effects from either case,  as of this post I’m still breathing. I work in the food industry, these things happen.  No one can assure that a bug or some  foreign object will not one day  get into a packaged product.

If I may render an opinion . Waddah doesn’t like flies in his Water. So much so that he has developed a sort of phobia about it. Perhaps the sight of Waddahs’ Water triggered a preexisting condition . In any event I doubt that the message that washes up on Waddahs’ shore will be anything but a bill for services rendered.
